FACT (Family and child treatment)

Juvenile Substance Abuse

Parents, guardians, and adolescent candidates identified for these programs should call FACT to schedule a no-cost assessment. Probation Officers, Courts or other concerned professionals may also make referrals. An intake must be completed, including having all consents and intake paperwork signed by the client and their guardian, prior to starting treatment in the Life Choices Program. The intake also includes thorough screening and assessment processes using Biopsychosocial information, DSM-IV-TR criteria, Health Division Placement Criteria, a standardized assessment tool, and urinalysis; all of which will help the FACT professionals tailor treatment for the client’s individual needs.

For ease of travel, Life Choices groups are facilitated at various locations throughout the Las Vegas valley and Henderson. Fees for this program are assessed on a sliding fee scale and are in conjunction with Federal Poverty Guidelines; no one will be refused treatment based on their inability to pay for services.

Certificates will be awarded to clients for the completion of the Level I Substance Abuse Treatment Program. Aftercare groups and individual counseling sessions are provided as a free service and a source of long-term support to clients who complete the Life Choices program.

This intensive program consists of weekly, 2 ½-hour group counseling sessions over a period of 12 weeks.  A client’s clinical progress and clean urinalysis determine whether the client will complete the program.
